About Michael
Michael Vachon is a prominent figure in the UK’s craft spirits industry, best known for co-founding Maverick Drinks in 2013, the country’s first distributor dedicated to craft spirits. Under his leadership, Maverick Drinks garnered multiple accolades, including the IWSC Spirits Distributor of the Year award in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
In late 2024, after 11 years at the helm, Michael announced his departure from Maverick Drinks to focus on his olive oil venture, Citizens of Soil, and advising early stage drinks brands with Drinks Sherpa.
His innovative approach and dedication have significantly influenced the UK’s craft spirits landscape, fostering growth and recognition for numerous artisanal brands.
