A new collaboration celebrates the gardens and botanical heritage of two County Down estates.

Gin Guild member Shortcross, from Rademon Estate Distillery in County Down, Northern Ireland, has unveiled its Hillsborough Castle Royal Botanical Gin – 2026 Release, created in partnership with Historic Royal Palaces.

The new expression brings together the character of Hillsborough Castle’s gardens and the distilling expertise of Shortcross. Its botanicals include fragrant rose petals, crisp apples and juicy pears, handpicked from the castle’s gardens.

Bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl format, the gin celebrates the natural character of two distinctive County Down estates, translating the gardens and landscapes of Hillsborough Castle into a new Irish gin.

The release continues Shortcross’s commitment to exploring distinctive botanicals and creating spirits that reflect their surroundings. The collaboration with Historic Royal Palaces also offers a fresh connection between the heritage of Hillsborough Castle and the craft of Irish gin distillation.

The 2026 release is available through the Rademon Estate Distillery online shop, priced at £35.
