Trinity River Distillery

Trinity River Distillery occupies a remarkable piece of Fort Worth’s industrial heritage. Its building was constructed in 1913 and originally housed the production of Ranch Style Beans, a much-loved Texas food brand. The facility operated for 95 years before production was relocated in 2008.

In 2011, U.S. Navy veterans and Texas entrepreneurs Don and Ben Alexander recognised the potential of the historic site and founded Trinity River Distillery. Following a five-year transformation, distillation began in 2016, with the renovation retaining many of the building’s original industrial features, including exposed brickwork, steel structures and other historic elements.

The distillery places a strong emphasis on its Texan identity and local sourcing. Rye, corn and barley are sourced from North Texas farmers, while other ingredients used across the range include locally sourced honey and coffee. Particularly distinctive is the distillery’s use of Texas rainwater. Rainfall collected from the building’s roof is stored in 13,000-gallon tanks and subjected to a double reverse-osmosis purification process before being used in production.

Alongside its whiskeys, vodka and liqueurs, Trinity River has developed a growing reputation for gin through Devil’s Grin Texas Gin. The gin forms an important part of the distillery’s contemporary spirits portfolio and has achieved significant competition success, including Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2024 and a series of major awards in 2025.

Today, Trinity River Distillery combines historic Fort Worth surroundings with modern craft distilling, welcoming visitors for tours, tastings and events. Its approach brings together local ingredients, traditional production and a distinctly Texan sense of place.
