Anne Brock Steps Down as Master Distiller of Bombay Sapphire
19th March, 2026
Anne Brock, one of the most respected figures in the gin industry, has announced her departure from Bombay Sapphire after eight and a half years as Master Distiller.
In a heartfelt message shared on LinkedIn, Anne confirmed she is leaving both the Bombay Sapphire team and the wider Bacardi family, describing her time there as “a true privilege.”
During her tenure, she became one of the most prominent and influential Master Distillers in the world, helping to shape Bombay Sapphire’s reputation for botanical complexity and craft. She is widely credited with deepening the brand’s commitment to provenance and sustainability, and has been a passionate advocate for gin education throughout her career.
In her post, Anne paid tribute to her colleagues: “I will miss the teams and individuals I’ve had the joy of collaborating with across Bacardi, and I will always carry immense pride in what we’ve achieved together.”
The gin community will be reassured to hear that Anne is not stepping back from the industry entirely. She confirmed she will remain on the board of The Gin Guild and intends to stay active in the distilling community, with plans to continue attending events including Ginposium and the Guild’s annual dinners.
“I’ll remain on the board of The Gin Guild and active in the distilling community, so I suspect I’ll still be seeing many of you at dinners and Ginposium and other events in the gin industry calendar,” she said.
She added that she is taking time to prepare for an “exciting new chapter,” though further details are yet to be announced.
The Gin Guild warmly thanks Anne for her exceptional contribution to the gin industry and looks forward to continuing to work with her in her ongoing role on the Guild’s board.
The wider gin community has responded with an outpouring of affection and admiration. Fellow Master Distiller Joanne Moore offered her congratulations, while fellow Gin Guild board member Andrew Parsons of Sky Wave Gin called her legacy “amazing.” Ben Marston of Puddingstone Distillery noted that her influence and support during the early years of his brand’s development had been “invaluable.”
Gin Guild Director General Pal Gleed was among those to congratulate her, commenting: “8½ years as Master Distiller of one of the world’s most iconic gins, that’s some achievement! Particularly the two Premier Cru gins launched on your watch.” He added that he looks forward to seeing Anne at the Gin Industry Annual Dinner on 30th April and at Ginposium 2026 on 12th June.
