Located at the southern tip of New Zealand’s South Island, Bluff Distillery draws its inspiration from one of the country’s oldest and most resilient communities. Surrounded by the rugged coastline of Foveaux Strait, Bluff has long been shaped by its maritime heritage, where Māori, whalers, sealers, fishermen and entrepreneurs forged a unique community renowned for its resilience, independence and pioneering spirit. It is this remarkable sense of place that defines every bottle produced by the distillery.

Bluff Distillery was established to capture the character of this extraordinary location through a range of premium handcrafted spirits. Its flagship **Bluff London Dry Gin** is a classic, juniper-forward expression that pays homage to the traditions of London Dry Gin while embracing the distinctive character of New Zealand’s southern coast. Distilled more than 19,000 kilometres from London, the gin has earned widespread international acclaim, winning major awards in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.

The distillery’s striking bottle design reflects Bluff’s rich maritime history, taking inspiration from the traditional glass fishing buoys once found drifting along the Southern Seas. The custom-built copper still, **Hannah**, is named after pioneering Bluff entrepreneur and hotel proprietor **Hannah Ward Barron**, whose determination and enterprise helped shape the town during the nineteenth century.

Bluff Distillery places sustainability at the heart of its operations. Located within the Ocean Beach development, the distillery has transformed part of a former industrial site into a modern visitor destination while working closely with the surrounding aquaculture community. Innovative seawater cooling systems, water conservation measures and a commitment to regenerative business practices have helped the distillery achieve **Certified B Corporation** status, reflecting its ambition to produce exceptional spirits while giving back to its local community and environment.

Visitors are welcomed to the distillery to experience the story of Bluff first-hand through guided tours, tastings and immersive experiences, discovering how the landscape, history and people of New Zealand’s southernmost town continue to inspire one of the country’s most distinctive gin producers.
