Citadelle Gin Bajan Edition
From: Maison Ferrand
Part of Citadelle’s experimental Les Excentriques collection, Citadelle Bajan is a limited-edition gin inspired by the rich heritage and vibrant flavours of Barbados. Distilled at Stade’s West Indies Rum Distillery – home to Maison Ferrand’s Planteray rum – this distinctive expression combines traditional gin craftsmanship with ingredients that celebrate the island’s culinary and botanical traditions.
Unlike Citadelle’s classic French gin, Bajan is distilled from molasses using historic pot stills, reflecting Barbados’ long association with rum production. The spirit is then infused with botanicals that showcase the island’s character, including grapefruit, hibiscus (known locally as sorrel), bay leaves and lemongrass.
The grapefruit pays homage to Barbados, where the fruit was first cultivated in the 18th century, while hibiscus contributes a vibrant floral note with subtle berry-like tartness. Bay leaves and lemongrass add savoury freshness inspired by local cooking and traditional herbal remedies.
Citadelle Bajan was awarded a Gold Medal at The Gin Masters 2026 – First Tasting, recognising its innovative approach and distinctive flavour profile
