The Sky Wave Distillery operates 3 stills – Basca, a 200 Litre Copper still named after Master Distiller’s faithful staffie-lab cross, Tessie, a 50 litre US Made traditional copper column still, and Tilly their first ever production still which can only produces 2 bottles at a time!
Sky Wave Gin HQ is now open on Fridays and Saturdays for an intimate behind the scenes experience.
Join them at their boutique distillery where your hosts will guide you through the Sky Wave story, how their award winning gins are created culminating in a tutored gin tasting.
It’s gin heaven as they include 4 complimentary G&Ts. Perfect for friends, partners, birthdays, celebrations or gift a Distillery Experience Voucher.
They’ve also a range of bar options which vary depending on the time of year, including an outdoor bar (101 Bar)

Basca
Named Basca after their Master Distiller’s faithful staffie-lab cross, which was by his side throughout most of his military career.
He is a 200L kettle with an onion dome and column. We don’t agree with reflux plates and sight glasses (the columns with lots of little round windows you often see on gin stills) – they believe these strip flavour, not add to it.

Tessie
This small production still is 50 litres and also has a traditional copper column. This was the first full size production still, and was made in America. She’s called ‘Tessie’ after the owners’ beloved springer spaniel who died age 13. Tessie is is used for smaller runs and will produce about 100 bottles at a time.

Tilly
Tilly is the Original production still, but she only produces 2 bottles at a time so she was quite demanding! She is a 2 litre traditional copper alembic still made in Portugal, a design which is potentially thousands of years old but which works wonderfully for distilling gin.
