Hawkridge Distillers wins IWSC 2025 London Dry Gin of the Year Trophy for Store Gin

The Gin Guild is delighted to congratulate Hawkridge Distillers on being awarded the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2025 London Dry Gin of the Year Trophy – one of the most prestigious honours in the global spirits calendar.

The IWSC, now in its 56th year, recognises the very best in distilling and drinks innovation worldwide. The London Dry Gin Trophy sponsored by the Gin Guild, celebrates excellence in traditional gin production, rewarding craftsmanship, balance, and the skilful expression of classic botanicals.

This year’s winning gin, The Store Gin, (made for a prestigious Oxford Hotel & Spa with the same name), impressed the judges with its exceptional clarity, refined juniper backbone, and complexity of flavour – a standout example of the enduring appeal of the London Dry style.

The judges noted the gin had:

Subtle aromas of lovely woody nuances. A burst of classic gin unfolds on the palate, showcasing vibrant juniper, peppery spice, and zesty citrus with a hint of cassia. The finish is elegantly refreshing, leaving a delicate whisper of lemon leaves.

Pal Gleed, Director General of the Gin Guild, said:

Store Gin is a top effort – a gin of real balance and character. It shows the classic qualities we admire: vibrant juniper, well-judged spice, bright citrus, and a refreshing finish. This is exactly the standard of gin the Gin Guild is proud to see recognised with a trophy win.

He continued:

“The IWSC London Dry Gin Trophy continues to represent the pinnacle of gin-making achievement. We warmly congratulate Hawkridge and the team behind the Store Gin for their dedication to quality and innovation, and for continuing to uphold the standards that make London Dry such a defining style of gin.”

Elsewhere there were wins for Secret Garden Distillery for UK Gin Producer of the Year and Brass Lion Distillery from Singapore for International Gin Producer of the Year.

The Gin Guild extends its congratulations to all Guild members and producers recognised in this year’s IWSC results, reflecting the continued creativity and excellence within the gin community.
