WL Distillery is an independent craft gin distillery based in Durham in the North East of England, founded in 2019 by gin enthusiast Scott.
Established from a passion for both gin and the natural beauty of the region, WL Distillery aims to capture the character of the North East in every bottle through carefully selected botanicals and traditional distillation methods.
The distillery’s gins are inspired by the landscapes and memories that shaped its founder, from childhood summers spent in his grandfather’s garden to iconic regional locations such as Seaham’s Blast Beach, Hadrian’s Wall and Kielder Water.
These influences are reflected in the flavour profile of the gin, which centres on classic juniper complemented by subtle notes of orchard fruits and berries including apple, pear, raspberry and blackberry.
Production takes place using a copper still, where botanicals are added by hand and rested in a mixture of grain neutral spirit and water before distillation to allow the flavours to fully infuse.
The spirit is then blended with natural mineral spring water to create a fresh and balanced gin.
With a strong focus on craftsmanship, nature and authenticity, WL Distillery continues to build a reputation for producing distinctive gins that celebrate both traditional distilling and the spirit of the North East.
