Summer Fruit Cup

Summer Fruit Cup is a non-commercial drinks website written by a husband and wife team David T and Sara Smith living in an old brewery on the South-coast of England. They write about topics of drink and drinking, tasting & reviews (particularly Gin & Whisk(e)y), cocktail history and features, vintage barware and vintage cocktail book reviews.

Although Summer Fruit Cup is non-commercial website; they have contributed to a number of other media/publications including Imbibe Magazine, The Drinks Business, Channel 4 television, BBC Radio, GinTime as well as  other guest articles on websites and contributions to books.

In 2016 David T. Smith chaired the gin judging American Distilling Institute, Worlds Best Drinks and Gin  Masters competitions. He also judges for IWSC as one of their gin specialists.

He has published his first book with co-author Aaron Knoll entitled The Craft of Gin and has subsequently published How to Make Gin and Forgotten Spirits and Long-lost Liqueurs.

David is a gin specialist and spirits writer who has spoken at conferences, judges’ spirits competitions and consulted on gin projects on both sides of the Atlantic.

He is a regular contributor to Gin Magazine and to the Gin Guild Ginposium seminar programme. He is the author of many books about gin, including: “Martini” with Keli Smith, and ‘The Craft of Gin’, ‘How to Make Gin’, ‘Forgotten Spirits and Long-lost Liqueurs’ and “Gin, The Dictionary’. They are also members of American Distillers Institute, The International Gin Association (IGA) and The Drinks Writer’s Guild.
