Distillers Of Surrey

Distillers of Surrey was incorporated in 2016 and is based in the village of Ripley, Surrey.

The distillery is a small‑batch, artisan operation founded by master distiller Simon Sherlock and his partner Lianne Sherlock. It is truly a family‑run venture launched publicly in June 2018 at the Ripley Grape & Grain festival.

Simon had previously been Head Distiller at another Surrey gin producer, before striking out on his own in late 2017. From the outset the company emphasised craftsmanship, local sourcing and hands‑on production, from distillation through to hand‑filling and hand‑labelling.

From small beginnings: selling at farmers’ markets and events, and operating from their home,  the business gradually expanded, moving to dedicated premises in Ripley.

Ethics, local provenance and quality are central to Distillers of Surrey’s identity: the founders remain personally involved, and the company continues to operate with a focus on handcrafted spirits rather than industrial-scale production.
