Nestled away in a beautiful 1800’s industrial building you will find T-J – a 110 litre capacity Müller Copper Pot Still and Bex Almqvist – founder and Master Distiller at Almqvist Destilleri.
Here they produce a range of products under their own brand Almqvist Destilleri and provide contract distilling for Bars and Restaurants who wish to create their own range of spirits.
Almqvist Destilleri is located on the grounds of Reijmyre Glassworks and shares the vision of a sustainable future for the village. They use responsibly harvested, locally sourced neutral grain spirit made from winter wheat. Their botanicals are sourced both internationally and foraged locally. Apples and rhubarb come from Bex’s farm, and the lingonberries are gathered from the surrounding forests.
Their sustainability efforts include composting botanicals, using 97% fossil-free energy, and collaborating with energy consultants to, in the future, utilise the excess heat from the glassworks to power their stills.
