Based in the province of Verona, Zona B is the first and only artisan craft distillery in the area dedicated to the production of London Dry Gin. Founded by Alessandro Zaghi, the distillery was born from his passion for medicinal herbs and botany, with a particular focus on celebrating certified Italian botanicals through artisan distillation.

Production takes place on a 200-litre copper pot still equipped with double rectification columns and a gin basket for Carter Head-style distillation. The distillery has a production capacity of approximately 2,000 bottles per month. More recently, Zona B has invested in a rotary evaporator, enabling low-temperature distillation techniques and opening the door to the development of increasingly modern and technically sophisticated spirits.

At the heart of Zona B’s product development is Alessandro’s Terpeni philosophy. Inspired by terpenes – the natural aromatic compounds found in plants – the Terpeni range comprises three gins: Classico, Fiori and Radici. Each has a distinctive botanical profile and is produced using certified Italian juniper and organic wheat alcohol, reflecting Zona B’s focus on the character and provenance of its ingredients.

The distillery’s work has already attracted significant international recognition. At the 2026 Gin Guide Awards, Terpeni Classico received a Gold Medal as well as being named Best Gin in Italy 2026 and Best Gin in Europe 2026. At the London Spirits Competition, Fiori and Radici both received Gold Medals, while Classico received Silver.

Alongside its own products, Zona B supports the wider Italian spirits sector through contract manufacturing, offering services ranging from recipe development through to bottling for gin, amaro, vermouth and liqueur projects. Through tastings, trade partnerships and education, Alessandro and the team continue to promote artisan gin and develop a deeper appreciation of Italy’s botanical heritage.
