The Gin Archive

The Gin Archive is a web-based encyclopaedia of gin, listing over 6,000 different gins from more than 60 countries. It covers a very wide variety of styles from London Dry to Old Tom, barrel-aged, navy strength, fruit / flavoured and vintage.

Behind the digital database, there’s a private collection of gin bottles, including very rare or historic ones: for example, Cambridge Distillery’s Watenshi and the “1495” interpretation gins.
Because of this, the Archive is more than just a list,  it’s a living, curated collection.

Access & Exclusivity
Access to the Archive is very restricted, strictly by invitation at a undisclosed location. This means the Archive is not a public institution like a museum, it’s more like a private, high-level resource/network.

Gin Guild Connection
The Gin Guild acknowledges the Archive, showing that it’s a recognised and valued part of the gin world. Some Gin Guild members have a selection of their gins in the Archive, which helps preserve important or rare expressions.

Historical & Educational Value
Because of the breadth (geographically and historically), the Archive helps document gin’s evolution, rare bottlings, and lesser-known styles, which is valuable for both lovers and industry professionals.

Conservation
By holding rare or vintage gins, the Archive acts as a kind of “guardian” of gin heritage.
