Seatrus Gin

Sea Spirits Trade Ltd is a UK-based spirits company founded by Giulio Amodio, a London-based Italian bartender and hospitality professional with many years of experience at the China Tang at The Dorchester. The company was established to bring Giulio’s vision of Italian craftsmanship and Mediterranean character to the international spirits market.

The company owns the rights to the Seatrus Gin Acqua di Mare brand, including its name, recipe and distribution, with production and bottling carried out in Italy by Antica Distilleria Quaglia in Piedmont.

Seatrus was created around Giulio’s connection to his native Calabria and his desire to showcase distinctive Italian ingredients and flavours to an international audience. The business places a strong emphasis on provenance, quality and the relationship between Italian ingredients, Mediterranean culture and contemporary mixology.

Its flagship gin uses botanicals sourced from different parts of Italy, including the distinctive Cedro Liscio Diamante from Calabria, alongside purified Mediterranean sea water.

The company has subsequently expanded its portfolio with Bitter Cedrino, a contemporary Italian bitter built around Calabrian cedro and Mediterranean citrus.

From its London base, Sea Spirits Trade is developing an international presence, working with bartenders, hospitality businesses and distribution partners to promote its products and the wider story of Italian spirits and Mediterranean culture.

Giulio describes the business as a journey from the Riviera dei Cedri to London and beyond, reflecting the company’s ambition to take these distinctive Italian flavours to markets around the world.
