Blackwoods Gin to Open New Visitor Experience at Ardgowan Estate

Blackwoods Gin will open a new visitor experience to the public from 12 February 2026, marking an important milestone for the Scottish spirits producer.
Established in 2003 and known for its authentic Scottish Dry Gin and Vodka, Blackwoods’ new Brand Home is located within a sensitively restored stable building on the historic Ardgowan Estate, neighbouring the Ardgowan Whisky Distillery. The estate, situated on Scotland’s west coast just 40 minutes from Glasgow Airport and 15 minutes from Greenock Cruise Terminal, boasts more than 800 years of history.
The Brand Home
The renovation has been carefully undertaken to respect the character of the original building while expressing the Blackwoods brand throughout. Designed by Studio Percale, the space features traditional slate roofing, original stonework and characterful concrete floors, complemented by rich woods, jewel-toned furnishings, bespoke cabinetry and a striking granite-topped bar.
Visitor Experiences
The Blackwoods Brand Home will offer a range of bookable experiences, including guided tours and tastings (from £10), cocktail masterclasses and a hands-on Gin School.
Tour guests will be welcomed with a Blackwoods Gin & Tonic, followed by an introduction to gin distillation, the Blackwoods story, and a behind-the-scenes look at the 1,000-litre Scottish-made copper still used to produce Blackwoods Gin. Tours conclude with a guided tasting of the core range.
Gin School participants will create, distil and label their own bespoke 70cl bottle of gin, with recipes retained for future re-orders.
Bar & Shop
The space will also operate as a cocktail bar and retail shop, offering Blackwoods signature cocktails alongside core and exclusive bottlings, gift sets and merchandise.
