Gin Guild Members – please log in to book your tickets
Distillers, producers, brand owners, bartenders and individuals across the global gin industry will gather in the glamorous setting of The Mansion House, London for the prestigious autumn Gin Guild Installation.
Reflecting the traditions of the trade guilds of the City of London, Grand Rectifier of The Gin Guild, Ed Pilkington, will install new members after they take a solemn oath, before each will receive a sterling silver badge in the form of a sprig of juniper to signify their membership. Members will then be invited to attend The Worshipful Company of Distillers Annual Banquet.
Ed Pilkington, Grand Rectifier of The Gin Guild, commented on the forthcoming installation:
“We will be delighted to welcome further new members to the Guild. The Guild is pleased to recognise the calibre of entrants who apply to become members. It is truly an honour to be a part of the Guild, which represents the best of the industry, as entry is strictly for those who uphold the Guild’s values of excellence.
“We aim to promote the gin category across the globe, celebrating its heritage and helping others to recognise what makes a great quality gin. We have an incredible wealth of knowledge and passion within the Guild, which will undoubtedly help us to fulfil our aims.”
Gin Guild installation is held in the late afternoon before the Board of the Gin Guild, in a private room at The Mansion House, in front of invited guests and colleagues and Guild members.
New members take a solemn oath on joining the Guild and then receive a sterling silver sprig (badge), of juniper, which they wear to signify their membership of the Guild.
After the ceremony, members of the Guild old and new and their guests share in a gin bar. They are able to sample the spirit alongside the conviviality of Guild membership. In early evening the group then joins the Worshipful Company of Distillers, its members and their guests, in the formal reception in the reception hall. After the reception all take their places for the Banquet (a formal dinner) in the world famous banqueting hall, the Egyptian Room, which, along with the surrounding rooms, houses a world class collection of art, including many great paintings by Dutch masters.
