Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin is the only gin in the world created specifically to go in a Negroni cocktail. It is a highly aromatic, rich and (yes) spicy gin with great power and intensity. They use the West African spice grains of paradise and Indonesian cubeb to up the ante, and open the plates when distilling to add weight to the gin.

Four Pillars is a small Australian distillery based in Healesville in Melbourne’s Yarra Valley. Founded in 2013, they make a variety of gin based on their four pillars of great copper stills; pristine Yarra Valley water; traditional, exotic and indigenous botanicals, and a massive amount of love and attention to detail at every stage of their craft.

Wilma was their first 450L copper pot still, commissioned from CARL in Stuttgart (the best artisan still makers in the world). Today, with more gins to make and constant growth, Wilma has been joined by big sisters Jude and Beth and little sisters Eileen and Coral (who are perfect for experimental distilling).

They now proudly share a diverse range of gins, ranging from their original multi award winning Rare Dry Gin, to their bloody awesome Bloody Shiraz Gin. Four Pillars is bringing their delicious, modern Australian take on gin to the world.

These days their efforts extend to ageing gins in their solera of barrels, making delicious marmalade from left over gin-steamed oranges, as well as distilling a gin with Christmas puddings used in the botanical basket. Their love in their work continues to grow and everything they do is designed to elevate the craft of distilling gin in Australia.

Nose:Juniper fragrance holding its own against a backdrop of fresh citrus provided by the oranges and lemony character of Indonesian Cubeb pepper.
Palate:The taste champions a comforting peppery warmth, supplied by the African Grains of Paradise pepper and fresh ginger, but is bolstered by zesty citrus notes and slightly sweet cinnamon. A rich texture from the heavy essential oils resulting from open plate distillation.
Finish:A lingering, soft spice that refreshes your memory of the taste long after you’ve swallowed it.
Serve:Perfectly championed in a Negroni (of course) with the help of sweet vermouth and Campari, but also makes a sensational and unique gin and tonic, garnished with orange or blood orange.
