Rademon Estate Distillery has completed a £2.5million redevelopment of its Co. Down based distillery, which will treble production capacity.
The makers of the award-winning Shortcross Gin, Fiona and David Boyd-Armstrong, have transformed the distillery with the addition of two new copper stills. These will increase the distillery’s production capacity to over 50,000 litres of alcohol per year, marking the completion of a 20-month investment programme.
Founded in 2012 at Fiona and David’s historic family estate, Rademon Estate Distillery has become Northern Ireland’s leading craft distillery, making a major impact in the burgeoning craft spirits market.
The company has unveiled its new Still House, with the new equipment marking the distillery out as one of the most technically advanced in Europe, reinforcing its focus on creating spirits of the highest possible quality. The investment also includes the addition of a contemporary new Visitor Experience Centre featuring a bar, gift shop and events space with stunning views across the estate.
The expanded capacity will allow the distillery to significantly increase production of Shortcross Gin to meet growing demand within the UK, Ireland and globally, with export markets in France, Spain, Germany, Scandinavia, North America, the Middle East and Australia.
Managing Director, Fiona Boyd-Armstrong, said:
“We are proud to take the next steps towards realising our vision for Rademon Estate Distillery. In addition to the increased production capacity, we are thrilled to be able to welcome people to the home of Shortcross, with the opening of our new Visitor Experience Centre.”
