No.3 London Dry Gin has opened entries for its newly renamed 2024 global cocktail competition, Unrivalled Classics.
The Unrivalled Classic Cocktail for 2024 = The Gimlet
First appearing in 1922, the Gimlet can trace its roots back to the British Royal Navy, though likely served warm, using equal parts lime syrup with gin, we’re certain you can elevate this serve far beyond its roots.
With more ingredients and techniques than ever before at your disposal, we would like you to take that classic gimlet recipe and bring it into the modern day with your unique twist.
on Dry Gin is your starting point, be sure to consider it’s 3 core flavour profiles, Juniper, Citrus and Spice.
- Your recipe must use a minimum of 40ml No.3 Gin
- You are allowed a maximum of 6 ingredients
- Garnishes do not contribute to your total ingredients
- You are permitted a total of 2 homemade ingredients
The finalist from each country will win an all-expenses paid trip to the No.3 Gin distillery in Schiedam for the Global final in September 2024.
The Global victor will win an all expenses paid trip to Singapore for a takeover at the World famous ATLAS bar, they will dine at Michelin starred restaurant Burnt Ends, with paired No.3 cocktails and tickets to Bar Convent Singapore.
Ross Bryant, global brand ambassador for No.3 Gin, said:
“With the Unrivalled Classics competition, we are inviting entries from more markets than ever before. I can’t wait to see the talent and skill later in the year as the competition shines a light on the best of the best in our industry.”
The event builds on the success of the Pursuit of Perfection Cocktail Competition as each year features a classic gin drink and for 2024, entrants are challenged to take inspiration from the Gimlet and create their own interpretation using No.3 Gin.
Professional bartenders from the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, and the US for the first time, will compete in regional and national heats for a place and an all-expenses paid trip to the global grand final hosted at the No.3 Gin distillery in Schiedam, the Netherlands.
The judging panel will be made up of international experts who will manage the initial shortlisting process, after which the competition’s regional heats will take place in-person at venues around the UK, Europe and the US.
Entries must include a minimum of 40ml of No.3 Gin and a maximum of six ingredients including up to two homemade. Cocktail batching is not permitted.
