Sustainability is a key theme of the 2023 Ginposium, The Gin Guild’s annual industry seminar which brings together speakers with decades of industry experience alongside the latest research.

Tickets are selling fast for the event at RSA House in London on Friday 9th June.

With sustainability a vital consideration for every distiller, Ginposium will feature a presentation by Pernod-Ricard Deputy Director Sandrine Ricard, who has 15 years’ experience in the field and will discuss sustainability strategies.

David Boyd-Armstrong, from Rademon Estate Distillery in Northern Ireland will talk about sustainable and responsible foraging for botanicals; Rosie Milsom from ATOM Brands and Sarah Miller from Gin-a-ding-ding will provide a sustainable packaging update and Nolan Kane from Verallia UK (Allied Glass) will explain how the glass industry is addressing sustainability.

Gin tastings will provide a popular highlight, with the chance to discover the latest Asian gins as well as samples considering the use of salt in gin. Ginposium favourite David T Smith returns with a tutored tasting of what’s new and a retro revival.

Topical discussions will include Professor Matthew Pauley from Heriot Watt University providing an update on The Gin Guild sponsored research into juniper profiling; a panel discussion about Scottish alcohol advertising restrictions and a distillery safety update from David Thompson.

Following last year’s successful Ginvestment presentation, financial analyst Chris Pitcher returns to interpret the latest gin industry statistics, while Keli Rivers from Sipsmith will discuss the rise and rise of the Martini.
