Batch Distillery, the Burnley-based craft gin maker known for its creative range of gins, has a new chapter as Jamie Butterfield and Sharlene Yvonne officially take ownership.
The pair expressed their excitement at becoming custodians of a distillery that “literally bottles the spirit of Burnley,” and are committed to building on the work of previous teams.
Head Distiller Ryan, along with previous owner Phil will remain involved to ensure a smooth transition. The new owners have teased ambitious plans for the brand while reaffirming their dedication to the local community and the quality of Batch’s distinctive gins.

Meanwhile, Slingsby Gin from Harrogate has been saved from administration following a pre-packaged acquisition by Brightside Spirits. While the Harrogate shop closed and a small number of roles were lost, the brand’s range will continue to be produced and distributed.
These developments highlight the resilience of independent gin makers and the ongoing commitment from new investors to preserve the heritage and craftsmanship that define British gin.
