Stargazey Spirits is a dynamic company in the UK’s craft spirits industry owned and operated by Paul and Joe Barber, managing three distinctive gin brands: Verdant Spirits, Wrecking Coast Distillery, and The Portsmouth Distillery. Each brand offers unique products that reflect their regional heritage and commitment to quality.

Verdant Spirits, originally established in Dundee, Scotland, gained recognition for its premium gin that celebrates the city’s industrial and maritime history. Despite facing challenges that led to its closure in 2023, Verdant was revitalised in February 2024 when Stargazey Spirits acquired the brand. This acquisition ensured the continuation of Verdant’s legacy, with production resuming under Stargazey’s stewardship.

Wrecking Coast Distillery, located in Tintagel, Cornwall, draws inspiration from the region’s rugged coastline and storied shipwrecks. The distillery is renowned for its innovative spirits, including the Clotted Cream Gin, which uniquely incorporates fresh Cornish clotted cream. In a recent rebranding effort, Wrecking Coast introduced eco-friendly packaging, featuring bottles made from 100% post-consumer recycled glass and sustainable Corkcoal stoppers.

The Portsmouth Distillery, situated within the historic Fort Cumberland in Portsmouth, specialises in crafting award-winning rums and gins. Notably, it produced England’s first authentically aged 5-year-old rum, matured in Bourbon casks less than 100 meters from the sea. This coastal aging process imparts a distinctive character to their spirits, reflecting the maritime heritage of the area.

Through these brands, Stargazey Spirits showcases a diverse portfolio that honors local traditions while embracing innovation, appealing to both connoisseurs and casual enthusiasts of fine spirits.
