Mr Hobbs Gin
The Mr Hobbs Gin range of products is brought to you by the family pleasure boating business, Hobbs of Henley, based along the Thames, who give you the most enjoyable way to “mess about on the river’’. Today they are very proud to share their cherished family tipples with you and raise a glass to their Henley heritage.
In 1870 Mr. Harry Hobbs, founder of Hobbs and Sons (now Hobbs of Henley) and publican of The Ship Hotel was renowned throughout the town for his flamboyant beard and high-spirited nature. He was often seen in his punt around 11am enjoying his home-distilled gin.
Frequently spotted sipping from his unique glass or his wood-rimmed drinking flask, Mr Hobbs was forever throwing river parties along the banks of the Thames in Henley. He also hired out his boats for like-minded members of the public to host their own shindigs.
When perusing the Hobbs of Henley business archives, records pointed them towards the rumours that Harry had been distilling his own gin back in the day and it inspired their journey to follow in his footsteps. They started to investigate local botanicals and embark on creating their own gin as a salute to the man who started it all and to mark the 150th anniversary of the family business, Hobbs of Henley.
Today they are very proud to share their cherished family tipple with you and raise a glass of Mr Hobbs Gin to their Henley heritage.

Mr Hobbs Henley Gin
Mr Hobbs Henley Gin is a 45% distilled gin with strength and flavour. The mix of traditional and local botanicals create a distinctive taste reminiscent of old style ‘Export’ strength gins. The introduction of a curl of orange peel brings out the citrus notes and gives a complex, long and smooth refreshing finish.
Mr Hobbs Raspberry & Elderflower Gin Liqueur
Fresh British Raspberries have been introduced into this intensely flavoured Raspberry & Elderflower Gin Liqueur. The nose is full of ripe berries which continue onto the palate before a long and refreshing Elderflower finish.
Mr Hobbs Rhubarb & Ginger Gin Liqueur
Blended with the very best British rhubarb to produce a perfectly balanced gin liqueur. Summer fruits & herbs on the nose with well-rounded ginger notes and plenty of rhubarb on the palate.
Mr Hobbs 150 Gin
Mr Hobbs ‘150’ is Hobbs of Henley’s latest edition to their gin range. Launched to celebrate their 150th Anniversary of their family boating business in Henley-on-Thames. This award winning, classic London Dry Gin is bursting with nine botanicals including Lemon peel, Black Pepper and Grapefruit with notes of Elderflower and Green Cardamom finishing with refreshing Lemon Verbena.
