Golden Moon Distillery

The heart of Golden Moon Distillery is their research library containing hundreds of rare books on distillation and related products and processes, some dating back to the 1500s. Most of the collection dates from the late 1700s to the early 1900s, though there are a few titles that are much older, or newer.

Golden Moon currently has four antique stills at their pilot plant in Golden, Colorado in the USA. Their stills date from the early to mid-1900’s.

Golden Moon uses environmentally friendly packaging and business practices as much as possible. They source as many materials as possible from local producers (reducing shipping and the related carbon footprint), and are working with local wineries to utilise some of their cast-off materials in our production and packaging processes.

Their solid waste from the distilling processes is used as compost and feed by local farmers and gardeners.

Golden Moon Gin Bottle

Golden Moon Gin

Golden Moon Gin is distilled using the finest herbs, spices and botanicals available, including wild-crafted mint and juniper berries, and locally grown herbs and botanicals from the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains near Golden Colorado in the USA. Compared to other artisan gins, Golden Moon is unique and distinctive. It has a highly floral aroma and a gentle refined taste. It is smooth enough to drink neat and bold enough to mix well with other spirits, making wonderful cocktails.
Golden Moon Port Cask aged Gin Bottle

Golden Moon Gin – Port Cask Reserve

The team at Golden Moon Distillery start with their regular Golden Moon Gin, then they condition the spirit in wet port casks from one of the top port-style wine producers in Napa Valley in California. Using freshly emptied wet port casks made from French oak from the Limousin forest results in a gin with a totally unique flavour, a wonderful rose-red colour and a silky-smooth mouth feel.
