Saffron Gin
From: Boudier
Produced in a traditional pot still by Dijon micro distiller Gabriel Boudier, Saffron Gin is made to a 19th century Indian colonial recipe that contains nine fresh botanicals.
These include juniper, coriander, lemon, orange peel, angelica seeds, iris, fennel, plus saffron which gives a delicate spicy character.
The simple perfect serve is over ice with tonic and a slice of orange which, as well as complementing the colour, provides a touch of sweetness to balance the spice.
However, its versatility has generated an amazing list around the country of original cocktails from leading bartenders.
