After 2-years in the the Irish dairy sector, Michael joined FDT Consulting Engineers & Project Managers in 1998 and has worked in various roles as Project Engineer, Manager and Consultant to Beverage, Food and Pharma companies in Ireland and Internationally.

Michael has worked with clients across the spectrum of beverages from beer to whiskey, gin, cream liqueurs and other spirits, including several NPD projects.

Established over 25 years, FDT are one of the most respected beverage industry specialists, counting some of the largest and well known Spirits and Beer companies in the world as clients while also supporting the expanding spirits and craft beer sectors in Ireland and Internationally.

Michael’s other main area of interest is in the area of Sustainable Production, incorporating Efficient and Sustainable management of Energy, Water and Co-Products. He has worked closely with The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and the Irish EPA and has input to International Standards on Energy Management and Energy Efficient Design Management. He is currently Project Coordinator for a EUR1.6M Eco-Innovation project on recovery of by-products from the Brewing and Distilling sectors (PUReOPE).
